The city is famous for producing many successful youth-oriented sports teams.  The Carson Colts (high school) are well-known for success on the gridiron, having produced many football City titles and sending athletes on to Division I college programs and the pros.  The girls' softball team has accumulated many wins.  Basketball, track and field, baseball, golf, tennis --- you name it, the city has a nice resume.  Carson Veteran's Stadium is home to a professional summer league that attracts famous NBA players.

And the proximity for commuting is great!  The 405 and 110 freeways intersect at Carson, just south of the mall and the Del Amo neighborhoods.  The 91 freeway is just north of California State University Dominguez Hills.  LAX (Los Angeles Airport) is only 15 minutes away; Orange County is only 20 minutes away; and downtown Los Angeles is 15 minutes away.  

So, if you're looking for a family-oriented neighborhood with single family residences (detached homes), townhomes or condos, Carson may be the place for you.
